Following the successful Judgment prequel, the game will be a remake of the original Gears game but with a pretty cool twist, it will be played from the point of view of the Locust horde.
Extending the Gears 3 DLC where one could play as General Raam, the game will center on his efforts to exterminate humans and take down the COG. Key battles from the original game will be re-imagined from the Locust perspective.
In addition to playing as Raam, the game will also feature brief turns as new character 'The Butcher', Skorge (from GOW2), and turn as a Corpser. Epic Games has also promised lots of other surprises, Alan Van Slyke, who had a top level producing role with Judgement said, make no mistake, this is not a GOW remake but a re-exploration of the Gears universe. We expect fan's in game loyalty to Dom and Marcus to be sorely tested.
It's kind of like how Halo 2, pulled a swift one mid game and began playing as the Arbiter, except it will be known from the beginning which side you're battling on behalf.
Gears of War 4 will be released on 1 April 2014
